SHEFFIELD are gearing up for an action-packed night as they host the British Championship Semi-Final on Thursday (7.30).

Some of Britain’s top stars will descend upon Owlerton for what is set to be a dramatic night with eight places in the British Final at Belle Vue on June 19 up for grabs.

Window Centre Tigers stars Kyle Howarth, Josh Bates and Robert Branford will all be bidding to progress on home shale.

But with big names such as Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls and Edward Kennett in the mix competition is sure to be fierce.

And co-promoter Peter Mole is anticipating an exciting evening of racing around the fast, sweeping circuit.

Said Mole: “This still holds a great deal of prestige for all the riders involved, and qualifying places at Belle Vue for the final are up for grabs.

“Of course that leads to the ultimate goal of becoming British Champion and a Cardiff GP wildcard slot. To me the field currently looks very open, with any of a number of riders in with a chance of that ultimate prize.

“Make some noise for our own boys taking part, Kyle Howarth, Josh Bates and Rob Branford, who will be pushing for a place in the final.

“They will face stiff competition, the likes of Eddie Kennett, Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls and Craig Cook all being experienced campaigners at this level, then add numerous spoilers into the mix, and a fantastic evening will be in prospect.”

The meeting is a straight 20-heat format with each rider having five outings each to try and make the top eight.
