DANISH star Lasse Bjerre has been ruled out of tonight’s huge Championship clash at Edinburgh (7.30).

The Sheffield favourite sustained a knee injury after crashing during Leicester’s Premiership meeting on Thursday and is still feeling the effects.

The Tigers will now operate rider replacement at No.3 while Great Britain World Cup ace Chris Harris stands in for Josh Grajczonek who is on top flight duty with Somerset.

Despite missing two of their key riders, Sheffield captain Kyle Howarth remains hopeful of leaving Armadale with something to show for their efforts as they aim to leapfrog the Scottish outfit in the league standings.

“It’s a really big meeting because of how close we are together in the table,” Howarth said.

“It’s never easy going to Edinburgh, especially when you’re without two of your top riders, but hopefully if we all keep focussed and give it everything that we’ve got then we’ll be able to come away with something.

“We’ve run them close up there a couple of times already this season so hopefully this time around we can pull something out of the bag.”
