HOWARTH HOPING FOR MORE GLORY

Saturday October 07, 2017
SKIPPER Kyle Howarth is chasing more gold in Sunday's Championship Pairs at Owlerton (3pm).

Howarth, who led Tigers to title glory last weekend, partners Lasse Bjerre to represent the hosts in the showpiece national event.

It's the start of a stunning week of key clashes for Sheffield who race Leicester in the first leg of their promotion play-off at Owlerton on Monday night with the decider at Beaumont Park on Wednesday.

And they're back at Owlerton on Thursday night for their Knockout Cup sem-final with Ipswich before heading the Suffolk - the scene of their title triumph - on Friday.

Said Howarth: "Anybody who thought our season was done when we won the league was wrong!

"I'm looking forward to Sunday, it's a big meeting at Sheffield and there's a load of top riders there so it will be tough.

"But Lasse and me will be up for the challenge and we'll be aiming to win some more silverware for Sheffield.

"It's an amazing week for the club when you look at the fixtures but I'm really looking forward to it.

"I've really enjoyed myself at Sheffield this year, winning the league was amazing and everyone at the club deserves it.

"But there's still a lot of racing ahead and hopefully more trophies coming our way starting on Sunday!"
