TIGERS bosses have spent the weekend number crunching as they await final confirmation on team building rules for next season.

And they admit piecing a team together to defend the Championship is a daunting prospect – particularly as nobody wants to leave Owlerton!

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed side enjoyed a stunning season to lift the title before missing out on promotion in a play-off.

Co-promoter Damien Bates said: “We’ve been looking at the numbers working on what we think the points limit is shaping up to be.

“It’s always hard when successful sides face up to the prospect of releasing a rider or two to come under the limit but we’ll be doing all we can to stay loyal to the lads who won the title for us.

“I’m not prepared to talk about individual riders at this stage because that would be unfair, but I can say we will be moving pretty quickly once the AGM is out the way this weekend – and we’ve already had a host of riders calling us wanting to ride for Sheffield because of the reputation of the club.”
